Wyoming Deer Unit 81

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Wyoming Game Management Unit 81.

Wyoming Deer Area 81 is a high mountain block where the southern Medicine Bow and Snowy Range rise abruptly from sage steppe, climbing from 7,200 ft benches through lodgepole and spruce-fir timber to alpine crest above 12,000 ft, and deer shift down those bands as October snow nudges them off the high parks. We map the willow bottoms and creek drainages (Brush, French, and Douglas among them), the bitterbrush and aspen browse on lower winter range, and the private-meadow boundaries that funnel fall movement. The pack includes Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, and a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
