GMU 560 is a classic west-slope Cascades elk unit, all verticality wrapped in timber, where the Lewis River and its glacier-fed tributaries carve steep ridges and canyons that climb from the reservoir pools near 490 feet to volcanic high country above 6,000 feet in just a few horizontal miles.
