Washington Deer Unit 603

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Washington Game Management Unit 603.

GMU 603, the Dickey, tucks into the far northwest corner of the Olympic Peninsula, a low coastal rainforest where deer move through a dripping green tunnel of second-growth conifer, alder bottoms, and reprod clearcuts rather than open Western country. Elevations rarely top 2,000 feet, with most working ground between 200 and 1,200 feet along the Dickey River and its East, West, and Middle Forks. Recent cut blocks, three to ten years old, carry the heaviest browse (salmonberry, huckleberry, and salal), while a patchwork of DNR, industrial timber, and tribal boundaries governs where you can go. The pack breaks all of it down: Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, and a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
