Utah Deer Unit Vernal/Diamond Mountain

Diamond Mountain rises north of Vernal as a high, broken plateau where windswept sage and aspen parks break abruptly into deep red-rock canyons draining toward the Green River, and for deer hunters that contrast is everything: long glassing sightlines on top, then sudden 1,500 to 2,000 foot drops into hidden drainages. We map the country deer actually use, from bitterbrush and oak brush benches to the stock tanks, rim seeps, and Brush Creek corridors that hold the unit's limiting resource, water, and the winter aspects in the 5,500 to 7,000 foot band.
