Hatch Point is a high desert pinyon-juniper and sage mesa stranded between the Colorado River and Indian Creek drainages, a sky-island rimmed on nearly every side by thousand-foot sandstone cliffs, and for deer hunters that rim geometry dictates everything. The main tableland rides 6,200 to 6,800 feet before breaking to roughly 4,000 in the canyons, and this water-poor unit pushes deer hard onto stock tanks, dirt tanks, and springs like Trough Springs, with bitterbrush, cliffrose, and Gambel oak acorns as high-value browse.
