Utah Deer Unit Paunsaugunt

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Utah Game Management Unit Paunsaugunt.

The Paunsaugunt is a high timbered plateau that runs gently across its forested benches, then breaks without warning into 1,000-foot escarpments and hoodoo fields falling toward the East Fork of the Sevier River. Deer hunters work elevation here, from sage and juniper near 6,000 feet up through park-like ponderosa to mixed conifer and aspen approaching 9,200 feet, with hidden seeps in timbered draws concentrating animals in dry years and the closed Bryce Canyon boundary creating a sanctuary effect. Our pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
