Oregon Turkey Unit Sixes

The Sixes Unit sits on the southwestern shoulder of Oregon's Coast Range in Curry County, where the Pacific marine layer wraps steep, timbered ridges in head-high reprod and brush that cuts visibility to yards. For turkey hunters, the plays are the 2 to 8 year-old clearcuts throwing forb and berry flushes, the salal and blackberry edges, and the shaded draws off the Sixes and Elk River drainages where water trickles even in late summer, all below a ceiling near 3,500 feet.
