Deer hunters, unit 192 is a valley pinned between two utterly different walls: the granite Carson Range escarpment climbing from a 4,700 foot Carson Valley floor toward Job's Peak at 10,633 feet, and the drier, road-laced Pine Nut Mountains rising to Mount Siegel on the east. The Sierra side runs water-rich with perennial creeks, while the Pine Nuts hide their springs, and the private ranch valley funnels movement to the public flanks.
