Montana Deer Unit 314

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Montana Game Management Unit 314.

Unit 314 stacks the northern Absaroka Range against the eastern wall of Paradise Valley, where glacier-carved drainages like Mill Creek, Big Creek, and Emigrant climb from a 4,800 ft Yellowstone River bottom to wilderness alpine basins well above 10,500 ft. For deer hunters that vertical sweep is the whole story: animals shift from cool north-facing timber and forb basins up high in the heat to mid-mountain burn-scar benches between 7,500 and 9,000 ft as frosts arrive, then slide toward lower wind-scoured slopes near private ground late. Perennial snowmelt creeks mean this is not a tank-dependent unit. Our pack delivers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
