Minnesota Deer Unit 119

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Minnesota Game Management Unit 119.

Minnesota Deer Permit Area 119 sits deep in the Arrowhead's Laurentian Mixed Forest, where glacial granite ridges, black spruce bogs, and a near-continuous lattice of lakes and beaver flowages mean you are rarely more than a half mile from standing water. Deer hunters live and die on the browse here: aspen and birch regeneration in 5 to 15 year old cuts, with lowland cedar yards holding animals through early snow. Elevations run from roughly 1,300 ft lake basins up to 1,900 to 2,000 ft along the Laurentian Divide near Ely. Our pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, and a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
