Michigan Deer Unit 6

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Michigan Game Management Unit 6.

Michigan Unit 6 is classic northern Great Lakes country, a dense mosaic of glacially carved lowland conifer swamps, hardwood ridges, and beaver flowages where deer travel swamp edges and bed on dry hummocks within the wet matrix. Elevations run a compressed band, roughly 600 feet along the lowlands up to 1,800 on the morainal highlands, and the highest-value feeding ground is young timber regeneration 3 to 15 years post-harvest plus oak-bearing benches when mast drops. Our data pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, and a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose into onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
