Idaho Unit 32 is two units stacked into one: heavily timbered high country anchored by the West Mountains and Council Mountain (topping out near 8,300 ft) plunging into dramatic canyon breaks that bottom out around 1,800 ft along the Weiser River, so elk shift from cool upper Payette National Forest timber early to south-facing benches as snow closes the high roads. We map the bunchgrass and bitterbrush forage, the perennial Weiser tributaries like Crane and Mill Creek, and the public-private access traps along the lower benches.
