Idaho Deer Unit 21A

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Idaho Game Management Unit 21A.

Idaho's Unit 21A is Salmon River canyon country at its most vertical, where deer hunters stand on river bottoms near 3,000 feet and crane up more than 4,000 vertical feet to timbered ridges above 9,000, much of it brushing Frank Church wilderness. Bitterbrush, mountain mahogany, and serviceberry on the sun-burned south breaks, plus unmarked mid-slope seeps and springs, dictate where deer loiter through the dry early season. Our data pack covers all of it: Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, and a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
