Idaho Deer Unit 2

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Idaho Game Management Unit 2.

Idaho Unit 2 is the state's far northern corner, all of Boundary County, where the granitic Selkirks and rounded Purcell Mountains rise more than 4,000 feet out of the Kootenai River valley, putting deer hunters on some of the lowest ground in Idaho (near 1,750 feet) and the alpine crest at Parker Peak (7,709 feet). The food chain runs on huckleberry, serviceberry, and 8 to 20 year old clearcuts, and as Pacific fronts land, animals drift down to mid-mountain benches and the valley wintering grounds. Our pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
