Colorado Turkey Unit 82

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Colorado Game Management Unit 82.

Colorado GMU 82 is a Turkey unit of two worlds: the flat, arid closed-basin floor of the San Luis Valley on the west, and an abrupt wall of Sangre de Cristo peaks topping 14,000 feet on the east, nearly 7,000 vertical feet of relief in one unit. For turkey, the productive ground sits in between, on the piñon-juniper and Gambel oak benches of the foothill apron and the aspen pockets, where perennial creeks like Sand Creek, Cottonwood, and Medano tie birds to water while the sage-and-sand flats stay dry. Our pack covers all of it: Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Hunters study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points they choose into onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
