Colorado Pronghorn Antelope Unit 581

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Colorado Game Management Unit 581.

Colorado GMU 581 is true San Juan high country, a steep mosaic of timbered north slopes and grassy south-facing parks rising from river-bottom drainages near 7,500 feet to alpine ridgelines above 12,500 feet, so antelope hunters work the open lower benches and forb-rich parks rather than the dark spruce timber. We map the bio-zones (Gambel oak, serviceberry, and mountain shrub through the 7,500 to 9,000 foot band), the snowmelt-driven seeps and willow-bottoms, and the seasonal shift onto lower wintering ground. The pack includes Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose into onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
