Colorado Moose Unit 191

Northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado's Unit 191 hands moose hunters classic northern Front Range transition country: decomposed-granite foothills climbing west into montane forest, glacially carved lake basins near Red Feather Lakes, and the willow-and-beaver bottoms moose actually work. Most huntable ground sits in the 6,500 to 9,000 foot band, watered by the North Fork of the Cache la Poudre, Lone Pine Creek, and the Laramie River drainage, with aspen and willow regrowth flushing the draws. It is also a genuine ownership checkerboard, so legal access can hinge on a single section line.
