Colorado Elk Unit 79

Unit 79 stacks a full vertical mile and a half of relief in one block, from the arid 7,700-foot sage flats of the San Luis Valley near Saguache up the eroded volcanic La Garita Mountains to peaks topping 13,000 feet near the La Garita Wilderness, so elk work a clean elevation ladder here.
