Colorado Elk Unit 751

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Colorado Game Management Unit 751.

GMU 751 in Colorado's far southwestern corner is a "two units in one" elk landscape, where layered piñon-juniper mesas drop suddenly into sheer sandstone canyons between the Dolores River and Disappointment Valley. Elevations run from about 5,500 feet along the lower Dolores to over 9,000 feet on the forested San Juan ridgelines, and water is the decisive variable, with interior seeps and stock tanks concentrating elk in the dry early season. Our pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, and a one-page Essential Recon summary. You study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
