Colorado Elk Unit 37

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Colorado Game Management Unit 37.

Colorado Unit 37 is vertical wilderness, a slice of the northern San Juan Mountains where drainages climb 3,000 to 4,000 vertical feet in under three horizontal miles, from the 6,800 ft Uncompahgre valley floor to Cimarron crest summits above 13,000 ft. Elk hunters work a mid-mountain mosaic of aspen benches and Gambel oak browse between roughly 8,000 and 10,000 ft, fed by reliable West Fork and Middle Fork Cimarron drainages even in dry years. Our pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
