Colorado Deer Unit 7

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Colorado Game Management Unit 7.

Colorado's Unit 7 is classic high-desert basin country tucked in the state's far northwest corner, where deer are a glassing game across sweeping sage flats, broken sandstone rims, and juniper ridges stepping toward the Wyoming divide. Elevations run from roughly 6,200 feet on the basin floors to about 8,500 feet on the high benches, water is the defining scarcity (the Little Snake River plus scattered BLM stock tanks), and bitterbrush, mountain mahogany, and the sage-to-juniper transitions concentrate sign. The pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, and a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
