Colorado Deer Unit 691

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Colorado Game Management Unit 691.

Colorado Unit 691 is high plains deception: a sun-bleached shortgrass prairie that looks dead flat until it fractures into the deep sandstone canyons of the Purgatoire (Picketwire), Minnie, and Carrizo, walls dropping 200 to 400 feet to cottonwood-lined bottoms. Deer hunters work the table-and-trench rhythm between a roughly 3,900-foot river floor and mesas near 5,800 feet, keying on browse like fourwing saltbush, winterfat, and mountain mahogany, and on scarce water: the perennial Purgatoire, scattered stock tanks, and canyon-head seeps. Public access runs through the Comanche National Grassland, checkerboarded with private and State Trust parcels where boundary discipline is non-negotiable. The pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
