Floors near 6,500 feet in the North Fork climb past 13,000 on West Elk Peak, with most huntable country between 8,500 and 11,500 feet and reliable water from Anthracite, Coal, and Ohio creeks. As snow builds, deer slide toward south- and west-facing sage and oak draws below 9,000 feet.
