Deer hunters, Zone 6 is one of the rare east-west grains in the country: the folded Ouachita Mountains, long parallel ridges of shortleaf pine and hardwood separated by narrow timbered valleys, with signature spines like Rich Mountain and the Cossatot Range topping 2,300 to 2,700 feet above creek bottoms near 500 feet.
