Arizona Elk Unit 7W

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Arizona Game Management Unit 7W.

Unit 7 West spreads north and northwest of Flagstaff toward the Kaibab Plateau's southern edge and the Grand Canyon rim, where elk work expansive Colorado Plateau grass flats broken by basalt mesas and dramatic rimrock canyons that drop toward the Colorado River. Elevations run from roughly 4,800 feet in the canyon bottoms to near 8,000 feet at the Kaibab fringe, and water leans heavily on dirt stock tanks, so cool-season grasses, sage browse, and post-monsoon forbs steer movement. Our pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
