Arizona Elk Unit 2A

Sightings, hotspots, and hunt insights for Arizona Game Management Unit 2A.

Arizona's Unit 2A is big-sky, wind-scoured high-desert grassland where elk are found with glass, not vertical climbing: plains broken by volcanic hills and juniper mesas. Elevations run from 5,600 feet along the Little Colorado River to 7,000 feet on the piñon-juniper mesas, and water dictates movement, from Lyman Lake to stock tanks and windmill troughs. Ownership is a checkerboard of State Trust, BLM, private, and tribal ground, so access matters as much as terrain. Our pack covers Unit Overview and Topography, Vegetation and Hydrology, Seasonal Expectations, Logistics and Access, plus a one-page Essential Recon summary. Study the unit on our interactive map, then export the points you choose to onX or your favorite hunting map.

How this data was collected

Data Hunt Guide aggregates publicly available sighting reports from across the web (social media, hunting forums, harvest reports, and trail-camera shares) and uses a proprietary algorithm to identify high-activity zones (hotspots) within each unit. Our team verifies coordinates manually before publication.
