Arizona Deer Unit 5BN

Unit 5B North spreads across the Coconino Plateau between Flagstaff and Winslow, south of the Little Colorado River, where deer hunters work vast ponderosa pine flats broken by basalt mesas, lava flows, and deep canyon drainages. Elevations run from roughly 6,000-foot forest flats to 8,000-foot mesa tops, with deer feeding in open grass parks at dawn and dusk, bedding in shaded timber, and leaning on dirt stock tanks during dry spells.
