Unit 4B is the steeper, more dissected southern face of the Mogollon Rim, a vertical and compartmentalized landscape where deep box canyons and long ridge fingers drop from roughly 8,000-foot Rim benches down to 4,500-foot desert transition, and that verticality channels deer movement more than land ownership does. Springs and seeps line the Rim face while dirt tanks hold lower country, and the healthiest grass production sits up on the Rim-top meadows.
